CAITLIN CAMPBELL
JOURNALIST
I am a journalist who tells data-driven and investigative stories about state and local government. I entered the journalism world to hold those in power accountable, and that has been my focus since the first day I stepped foot in a newsroom.
An experienced news reporter and graphic designer, most of my career has been spent covering the Missouri General Assembly and local governments for two Missouri daily newspapers. I have also done extensive reporting on both federal and state courts – from the circuit level all the way to the U.S. appeals and Supreme Court.
My work repeatedly appeared in publications nationwide and overseas, including reporting on the wrongful conviction of Ryan Ferguson; Concerned Student 1950 protests at the University of Missouri; and Michael Brown protests in Ferguson.
I studied journalism and political science at the University of Missouri, as well as statistics and theatre (lighting design). I moved to Colorado in early February 2018. In my free time, I produce documentaries with friends and volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the True/False Film Festival. I enjoy keeping active by mountain biking, swimming, snowboarding and hiking with my German Shepherd mix dog, Zoey.
